Use cases

Send documents for signature automatically

Your AI agent can prepare and send DocuSign envelopes using your saved templates when triggered by events in other systems. When a deal closes in your CRM or a new vendor is approved, the agent sends the appropriate contract for signature with the correct recipients and fields already populated. No one needs to open DocuSign and configure the request manually.

Track envelope status and follow up

Ask your agent to check the status of pending DocuSign envelopes. It can report which documents are waiting for signatures, who has not signed yet, and how long each envelope has been outstanding. This helps your team follow up on delayed agreements without manually checking DocuSign. Post overdue envelope summaries to Slack so the responsible team member takes action.

How it works

Connect your DocuSign account to Weldable through OAuth on the integrations page. Once authorized, your AI agent can send envelopes, query status, and manage templates by describing what you need. Weldable maps your requests to the DocuSign eSignature API and handles authentication and token refresh automatically. Every action your agent takes is logged by DocuSign for compliance.

Tips

Use templates for repeatable agreements. DocuSign templates predefine the document, signing order, and field placement. Reference your template name when asking the agent to send documents so it uses the correct format every time.

Include recipient details clearly. When sending an envelope, specify the signer's name and email address. If there are multiple signers, mention the signing order so the agent routes the document correctly through the approval chain.

Check sandbox vs. production. DocuSign provides separate sandbox and production environments. Confirm which environment your credentials point to before sending live documents through your agent. Test new workflows in sandbox first.
